My name is Susan Cudden and I make Pineneedle Baskets.  16 years ago on a trip to Florida I came upon a class of students coiling  with pineneedles.  I loved the natural look and the rythmic process of coiling.  The next year I signed up for this class and discovered a medium that is both relaxing and very portable. 

 

Spending winters in Florida has allowed me to gather the premium 10-14in pineneedles which work best for coiling.    I have completed over 250 baskets and wallhangings.   I have also taught classes in  the Hayward area for the last 10 years.   

I love the unique look of the finished project and the endless opportunities for creativity.
